breakfast ideas

Can you please help me come up with breakfast ideas for my kids?

Right now we're having a lot of cold cereal as standby, and I am not happy with this. There may be a few cold cereals that I'd feel comfortable feeding my kids for breakfast, but they're not ones my kids will eat.

My challenge is finding breakfast ideas that are very easy to prepare in the morning because we have to have two kids out the door by 7:30, while caring for a baby and high-energy preschooler. There is not time for cooking in the morning, nevermind cleaning up the mess.

Hot cereal is out. I have tried a very wide variety of hot cereals with a variety of toppings, and they won't eat them.

I'm wondering about things I can pre-make that can be reheated very easily. Things that are rich in nutrients, especially protein, to get their bodies off to a great start. Premade burritos? Leftovers from dinner? Breakfast muffins? Other ideas?

I do things that can be made the night before: breakfast casseroles, or baked french toast. This way in the morning I can pop it in the oven and have it cooking while I change DS/get DD ready and make coffee.

What about making pancakes the night before and just toasting them?

Pancakes usually reheat really well from fridge or freezer. You can also do mini-quiche things with egg, cheese, veggies (whatever you like) in muffin tins, freeze and reheat as needed. DD loves smoothies for breakfast--we use Greek yogurt for the higher protein content and frozen berries and a banana if we have them on hand. DH likes cottage cheese and fruit in the morning. In the winter I'll make batches of homemade granola that has lots of nuts in it and that will keep for a while and can even be eaten on the run. Nut butter (almond, peanut, whatever we have) on toast with a side of fruit is another hit here.

Pancakes and waffles freeze really well and can be toasted quickly.
Bagels with cream cheese and salami.
Peanut butter toast, or pb&j english muffins.
Smoothies.
Egg sandwiches, I use hardboiled eggs, cheese and onions on a buttered english muffin.
Breakfast casserole, usually eggs, potatoes, whatever veggies sound good, cheese and baked. It can be reheated easily.
