My DD 6 made the day rather difficult today! My DS 9 was reading for schoolwork, and DD kept jumping on him, and wouldn't leave him alone! I had to pry her off of him, and hold her, so she wouldn't jump on him. As soon as I let go, she was back on him again. This went on for quite a while. My DS handled it pretty well. He was frustrated to be interrupted, but he didn't make the situation any worse. I finally got so annoyed that I spoke rather harshly to her, and pushed her away.
At that point, she finally took me up on my "feel free to come out of your bedroom once you can cooperate", and went upstairs. About 5 minutes later she called down, "Mom, should I take a time out?" (Gee, I thought she was already doing that!) She settled down somewhat after that, and actually did complete her schoolwork - much to my surprise. But she spent much of the day antagonizing her brother
I'm really hoping we won't have a repeat tomorrow! I'm not sure what her motivation was, and I didn't really come up with a good way to handle it...
