I love hearing how close every one is getting! And I actually really love hearing about the nesting, I find it pretty motivating. I feel *kind-of* ready myself, but then I hear about what you ladies are up to - freezing meatloafs! re-organizing spice shelves! - and I jot those things down on my list, too.

Today was an absolutely crazy day though. I slept in three hours today, and missed two appointments because of it. GAH. I am usually up by 7:30 on the dot this pregnancy so it was a surprise. I ended up making it to my third appointment but forgot the forms I was supposed to bring and had to do the run around to get them faxed. Thanks, Preg-nesia. I really can't complain about any of the other minor stuff because DP accidentally lit his hair on fire (He is a fire performer, but don't let him near any candles), AND was hit by a car while driving a company vehicle. So I made him some yummy comfort food, poor guy.

Seriously though, is it a full moon or something?

Julie- no idea! Maybe pulsatilla?

Sorry for starting the toaster strudel talk. I almost never buy real junk food and put this craving off for 9 months now and caved. In fact, I bought more junk food last shopping trip than in the past 2+ years. Cake mix and everything. I just realized my goals of healthy freezer meals and such will be thwarted by dh, so I might as well get some quick go-to things. Wish we had a Trader Joes or *anything* around here!

Got my both bead necklace put together. I decided to start wearing it now. It's pretty.

I got the house cleaned up...mostly but my cankles stopped me before I was satisfied. I am totally irrationally depressed over not having carpeting or the house we lived in 6 years ago. Crazy hormones. These contractions are killing me tonight but I laid back and watched BOB and assembled the necklace in semi-peace, at least.

any other hypnobabies moms here? I'm totally slacking and can not stay awake for quite literally enough time to even do the finger drop once I press play. I should probably give up.

Julie! I was also thinking Pulsatilla but am no expert.

I had a HUGE Frontier co-op order to sort and pack up tonight. Wrangled my kids into helping with it (which is not necessarily worth the effort at some points ) and got it all sorted out. Eek. And, sitting on the floor, I was contracting pretty much the whole time. Not even the nice ctxs. Sigh. These are low, cervix sort of ones that don't help me be less grouchy. I was having some yesterday, too, and then thought *maybe* it was intestinal.. But this doesn't really feel intestinal. Anyway, I'll be 36wks on Friday so it's too early, clearly, for baby... I am guessing I'm dehydrated somewhat and my cvx is kind of irritable right now. The last couple times I've checked it I've felt like it was irritable and/or I've had bloody show (up at the cervix that eventually came down).

There are moments I think baby could come at any time and others where I'm sure it's not for weeks. A few more days and I'll be totally ready for birthing whenever the little one shows up, so that's good, at least!

My DH just told me he'd be away Thursday evening. And my thought was, "So, what does that mean? It's not a good time to have a baby?" I don't think that's what was on his mind at this point!

I can't believe we have so many mamas at 37-38 weeks! These little ones will be joining us so soon! I wan't baby pics! And more birth stories! I need some really good ones, too, so you all need to have awesome births and come post full details.

I should do it more, but haven't since DH "woke" me when I was listening to the easy labor one during one of my earlier scares, and I heard some things on a conscious level that really bothered me. I'm pretty sure the prep ones don't have content that bothers me, but between that and the Fear Release track, I'm not feeling totally cool with having it manipulating my thoughts.

I've said this whole time that I'm holding out for a Scorpio, so I'm kinda hoping for somewhere between Saturday and next Monday

Neither of my others was born anywhere close to a full moon, though.

I would loooove to go this weekend on the full moon! in fact, today would be a good day too, then his birthday would be 10/20/2010!!!

After I get the house cleaned, I would like him to come asap, thanks!

Well, I've slept well the past two nights now which supposedly means baby will come soon, lol. As my mother put it, the last couple nights of good sleep are a teaser for what you won't be having for several months.

Full term on Friday. I've been pretty sure she was going to come in week 35/36 due to the fact that I'd been having ctx since 25w but as I'm almost 37w now, I'm thinking we'll have a term baby which is much better.

This baby has also gone up a bit and my cervix seems a bit thicker than it has been but it is still soft and super squishy. I'm having a lot fewer ctx now, but I'm so glad for the break from the prodroming that I don't care that nothing's happening, lol.

Thanks Heather and Desiree, for the Pulsatilla recommendation! I inherited all of my mom's remedies after she passed away but only regularly use a handful of them. Also, supposedly they're expired, but I wonder if they're *truly* expired or if I can still use them...?

Desiree, please post a pic of your necklace!

Fern, sounds like it'll be a nice day for you. Enjoy it! I'm hoping that you, Ocelot and Catie all get to have full moon babies! (Sorry if I'm missing anybody on that one)

Meta, hanging with your sis sounds like fun. I have a sister who lives ten minutes away from me and we talk almost every day on the phone. Unfortunately, we never get to hang out without kids!

AFM, my cough has gotten worse. I'm so sick of peeing my pants!

We're getting our new fridge/freezer delivered this morning to replace theone in the basement that died. So I can finally start buying and freezing extras again!

Got to go plan my big grocery store trip!

Julie - not much longer until you're on leave, right?

Lots and lots of term mamas now! That's so cool - I'm not 37 weeks until next Wednesday, but once I get there, you can send me all your labour mojo...I'll accept it all. Even then, I'll be lucky if baby comes at 41.5 weeks - my body just seems to work that way.

I finished the second baby sock last night (dh bet me I couldn't...I can't resist a challenge!), so I guess that means baby can come anytime, except that I haven't lined up a carseat yet. I'm supposed to borrow one from a friend, but I emailed her a few days ago and haven't heard back yet (our original infant seat expired 2 years ago)...I suppose in a pinch, we could turn our 2.5 yo's seat backwards, since it's a convertible, and have her move up into the extra seat we have in the garage. That's the thing with lots of kids.... you have a lot of carseats kicking around!

What can we do with our expired infant seat? Can one recycle them somehow?

OK, it's 7:00 - time to get a move on and start the day...

I have no idea if they're still good, Julie. for the new fridge/freezer

I woke up somewhat late today after staying up too late. So much to do today! Making a little Thanksgiving feast (no whole turkeys-only breasts at the store ) and taking my 6 yo to a speech evaluation and lots of housecleaning. Hopefully my cankles will hold up to the job!

Call your local FD or PD - they may have a disposal program. Most places don't, though. If you have a child restraint technician nearby, they may want it for training purposes, but again, not every place has techs. Best thing to do if you can't find a disposal program or a tech is to cut the straps, remove the cover and dispose of it separately, and write with a sharpie all over the shell "Expired - Unsafe" then dispose of it with your regular trash pickup.

Seats aren't typically recycleable plastics.

I'd love to say the full moon will do it this weekend, but I doubt it. I'm only 36w tomorrow, so that's too early. However, my due date is a little, um, creative since I wasn't totally sure on my LMP. I do feel like it could be soon, though. I'm very "nesty" today and that's a huge change and - this is really hard to explain - I feel like I'm turning inward and listening to something inside me. But who knows? Could be tomorrow could be weeks yet. Doesn't seem like today, though.

I just picked up a big pack of the organic pop tarts that they sell at Trader Joes from Costco last weekend for $3.97. It was a great deal.

I had a huge contraction wake me up last night but then nothing. I got excited and freaked out at the same time. I still need to get my hose and sink attachment for the pool, as well as a couple other things, but at the same time I am so ready to be done.

Karen- It's so funny I was reading through my old ddc posts with my daughter in Feb 07 and realized we were in that ddc together too

Interestingly my m/w says she sees more births in the three days before and after the new moon. Hmm...that would be right on my due date. My due date is also my Pi birthday (for all my fellow nerds out there I will be 31.4159 years old, which means that someone, ahem, DH? needs to bake me a pie).

Ugh, put in a bad night. DD has a bit of a cold and fever and spent the night in bed with us, so I was perched on the edge of the bed, and then the baby's head was ramming into my round ligament and giving me these sharp, painful as a contraction non-contractions for hours. My whole belly feels really tenderized and sore and every wriggle hurts. I was super nesty and energetic earlier in the week and now I'm tired again. Wonder how long I will have to wait?

Drive by post here because I need to go celebrate with my fam but...

Not only am I 37 weeks , I passed my midwifery boards....I'm an official Certified Nurse Midwife! Truly it has been an amazing day!

Now, the icing on the cake would be if all these ctx I've been having turn into something significant.

and happy 37 weeks! i hope you get your icing!

((stitches)) my youngest dd had a bad night as well.. hope you get a chance to rest & restore

avasmom: those sound yummy! hmm about the contraction. i wonder why just one?

bobbi, yay on getting your socks done! im so glad i have one tiny pair ready to go...speaking of which they need to be washed..

my son is at school day, my gils at a friends and will be home momentarily. my sister had to leave on really short notice, she is a nurse in a small rural hospital and there are only 3 LPN's and 2 are either sick or away so she had to run back to fill a position..but hopefully she will come back soon. it looks like she wont be able to come when the baby is born, but soon after..unless of course this babe waits another month..
so anyways, dp works today till 7:30 so its the first day in a while i have had to be on with the kids and meals. im feeling pretty well rested and not coughing so much. i think i can handle it. tomorrow dp is off and my mom comes friday so i/we should be in good hands.

heartburn is BAD. also having period like cramps this morning and last night

Friday night - 'Blood Moon' - how appropriate!

Woot!!

(AFM) Quick post here too. I didn't sleep as well last night - laid down my head at 10pm & was restless. I dreamed of super gooey caramel popcorn.

I talked to my sister about our Luna cat & she said she could live at the horse barn which is only like 5 minutes from our house & Dd1 goes there all.the.time. She said Luna could have a house in the hay loft, food in the tack room & a litter box in there too in case she wanted to stay in there on really chilly days/nights. I even mentioned that she'll need a rabies vax & she offered to give it to her.
SO, this morning Dd1 complained that the hard boiled eggs stunk & I replied "Not as bad as the living room." I then said that "Net-Net" (my sister) said Luna could live at the bar & went on to explain all of the perks. She said "No" to everything. So I said "It's either that or she goes somewhere where we won't be able to visit her anymore." So she said, "Are you making us give Luna away??" And I said "Yes." She FREAKED OUT! Ran upstairs SCREAMING like someone had cut off a body part or something. OMG.
She was completely nasty & wicked to me for over 1/2 hour, kitting me & throwing things. She said she wasn't going anywhere with me until *next* Saturday. So rather than spend the day with her siblings & I, she went to the barn (which was a GOOD thing for all of us.) My sister said she'd work on her a bit. Even this morning, before I had to leave, she said "Fine! But only if we can get another kitten....or a puppy!" Ah, I am not feeling inclined to get any more animals at the moment for a variety of reasons, TYVM.

The littles and I went to the chiro this morning & he had a little trouble figuring out which way the baby was laying too. But the little Turkey had hiccups that the chiro could feel that were pretty way down low. He gets hiccups every.single.night as soon as I lay down in bed. Kinda annoying.
So he thinks he's still head down. he did some more Webster Technique stuff to help my pelvis loosen up & it always feels soooooo good.

We left the chiro & I've felt more and more pressure all day. I've peed a million times (which is SO annoying) & had my regular share of contractions, but the cervical pressure combined with the pelvic (like pubic bone) pressure is new. I've been getting those cervical twinges/pinches, but today was just pressure. I wonder if the chiro got the baby into a more optimal position?
I dunno, but it's REALLY uncomfortable.

I'm SO ready to have this little guy but I'm SO worried that he'll arrive before DP gets back from Mexico. *sigh*

I'm going to go skim the rest of the threads (this ended up not being so quick!!) and I have lots to do. I'm feeling rather nest-y today. I tried to find a Christmas stocking for the Turkey and had no luck...my list needs to be completed!

Meta, I'm sorry that your dd freaked out but I think that sounds like the perfect solution to your problem. In fact, I'm rather jealous that you even have that option!
