Looking for current on-line resources, support for preemie experience

Hi there, mamas,

As a mama to 4 preemies of varying gestations (ranging from 31-35w), I have sought support and information from a variety of sources over the years. I have posted in here a bit in the past, but mostly hang out in the Special Needs forum these days. I really needed the most support and info. with my first two little ones, who were my earliest and sickest preemies, and they were born in 1998 and 2000, which was before I had discovered the wonderful world of MDC.

Back then, I was an active member of the preemie-L listserv and then later became a member of their yahoo group, as well. Both were great sources of support and info. for those dark NICU days, particularly because they were both crazy active forums, so I never had to wait long for a response.

Well, one of my much-loved cousins just gave birth last night to a 2 lb. 14 oz. (good size, hooray!) 26/27/28 wkr. little boy (still fuzzy on exact gestation b/c she lives across the country from me) due to PROM. This is her first foray into the world of the NICU, prematurity, etc. etc. Since I'm far, far away, and she's very into the internet, I want to hook her up with some online resources, but when I went back to the preemie-l site, it appears not to have been updated in some time (many of the info links are dead, the listserv link is also defunct, and the yahoo group doesn't seem to get much traffic anymore.)

So where are all the preemie mamas hanging out online these days? If anyone has any info. for me to send her way, I'd be so grateful!

Kind regards,
Guin

The March of Dimes website has some good information and a forum area for discussion. Most pregnancy websites with forums seem to have a preemie or NICU area, like MDC does, so if she is already online with a community it might work for her to check in with other members of that community.
