questions aboug hcg

I had an hcg trigger shot this cycle after seeing a good follicle. Had a beta blood test 10 days after the trigger. Got my results today. 12. I wasn't declared "pregnant" or "not pregnant." They just want me to test again on Monday to see if it is rising.

I was told by the nurse that anything under 5 is considered not pregnant. But I think she considered my test inconclusive until we see what happens in a few more days.

Does anyone know:
How many days it takes the hcg from the trigger shot to clear your system? Could my level of 12 be related to that?

I am cautiously optimistic right now, but I just can't celebrate quite yet.

Any wisdom, answers, advice, sharing of experience, or commiseration would be greatly appreciated. This has been a long road.

I think it could still be leftover. I usually test with an hpt and get a negative around 8dpo which would be 10 days after trigger. Sounds like a wait and see unfortunately. Good luck!

I was just reading on inciid's site and it says trace amounts of hcg can remain in your system up to one week after the trigger.

I wish I had done the hpts to see when it cleared, but I think I'd still be 2nd-guessing since they would not be as sensitive as the blood test.

Just another wait and see. You'd think I'd be used to that by now.
