TTC and nursing?

So... my dh and I are ttc. I'm nursing my 14th month old on demand and she nurses A LOT! I got my af back in August, but not again. I don't know what I should do. Should I decrease nursing a little? What have you all done? I don't know how to start ttc, what I should expect or what I should do. Do I sound lost?? LOL.

The first time with DD, I knew when I was Ovulating and when to try and I got preggers right away. Now, I feel like I have NO idea what my body is doing. I'm not in a rush to be pregnant, but I would like to know what I can expect or how to encourage ovulation. When I nurse DD, I find myself wanting to decrease the amount and worry that I am nursing too much to be fertile.

I guess I'm looking for some wisdom. Did you get pregnant while nursing on demand? Did you decrease nursing in order to encourage ovulation?

Thanks for listening!

At least I'm not alone

Maybe there will be someone out there who has some advice

I don't exactly have advice, but here's my experience: I got my period back at 21months. It came one month, took a month off, and has been regular every since (5 cycles). I think it's pretty normal to have some irregular periods before you even out again. I also started prenatals again around that time, so maybe the extra nutrition helped?

We're still nursing on demand, which is several times a day plus a couple nighttime. you might also check out the nursing mamas ttc thread.
