Am I crazy or pregnant?

So, we're not trying to get pregnant, but we're also not NOT trying. I am all for natural spacing, and I am nursing my 18 month old on demand still. Quite a bit at night, which I know can put off the return of ovulation. My menses haven't returned. However, I FEEL pregnant. I took a hpt, which was negative, but I don't know exactly when I would have conceived, as I haven't had my period, so maybe it was to soon? So tell me if this is possible and the following are pregnancy symptoms. My DH thinks I'm nuts, since he doesn't think I am ovulating yet. He doesn't want me spending our hard-earned money on another test...

Here is what I have been feeling:

-A constant hunger feeling. The same feeling you get when you're hungry to the point of nausea. Eating something helps, but not for long. I am quickly hungry/nauseous again. It's worse after breakfast and before lunch. Also late afternoon into the evening.

-Fullness in my breasts. I KNOW I am still nursing, so this is a tricky one, but they feel fuller anyway...

-More sensitive nipples. They don't hurt, but I usually don't wear a bra and I am fine since I nurse all the time. Lately, they are chaffing.

-TMI, but more vaginal discharge. I have been desert dry since my son's birth and the breastfeeding, but now it feels back to my pre-pregnancy discharge. It is slightly yellow and pretty mucousy. I know there is a science to the discharge thing, but I am not sure how it works.

Has anyone ever caught the first egg without having their menses return?

I don't have any personal experience with this, as I am TTC #1, but I have known women to catch the first egg. That happened to one woman I know, and she didn't know she was pregnant until 5 months in because AF had never returned, so she didn't realize she was missing periods... she just chalked her symptoms up to post-partum issues and breastfeeding!

So it can happen! I don't know how likely it is, but it is possible. It could also be just your body gearing up to staring ovulating again.

Good luck to you, either way!

While it is possible that you're pregnant, it's probably more likely that your body is about to start ovulating again.

If you want to test more, the hpts from dollar tree work well (for me they have anyway) and they're on $1 so you can test to your heart's content.

I know it's possible to catch the 1st pp egg (though it hasn't happened to me) and I believe it's more likely the longer you go before AF returns (so if AF returns at 6 months you're less likely to have ovulated beforehand than if AF doesn't return 'til 20 months).

However most of what you describe sounds like the return of fertility/impending AF to me... I got AF back at 9 mos pp and I remember having those same feelings a couple weeks beforehand.

I agree with previous posters - while possible to catch taht egg, I think your fertility is just returning.

I caught the first pp egg (or maybe two?) and ended up with our twins. Like you, the only thing I had to make me wonder was a feeling that I was pregnant. I've had the same feeling every time. I poas at 3am and woke DH up with the very clear line. I waited several weeks after suspecting because I was in denial. Turns out, I must have started feeling it right away, because I went to my MW a week later and we did a dating U/S (and found two babes) at 6 weeks.

The only possible sign I had other than my "feeling" was that AF returned at 6 mo with DS1, and it was 9 mo PP with DD.

Best of luck!
