I've been a fairy house builder since my childhood starting on Monhegan Island in Maine. I'm so happy to have passed this magical "skill" onto my children who have left fairy houses in woods and beaches in many places in this country.

DH's family is from (some still there) Southport, I've seen Monhegan from there, but not been on it. Must look for your houses next time we visit!

That looks like a lot of fun and I've admired pictures of fairy houses for some time, never seen one in person. Can any of you experienced builders give some tips? How do they stay together? Some look like they must have used some kind of glue. I'd like to use only found objects for our future fairy houses. How long do they last? Thanks for the fun link!
