(almost) 5 yo chores are:
-feed the pets
-put his cups etc. in the sink/on the counter
-not really a chore but he's expected to get his own snacks (after asking) if he can
-help tidy up the playroom
-put himself to bed for naps (he goes upstairs, goes to the washroom etc., goes to his room-sometimes he just plays and sometimes he sleeps)
-dress himself (from underwear to snowsuit) and help me choose his outfits for school
-put his dirty laundry where it belongs
-park his bike in a proper location
-put the wagon in the shed after use
that type of thing. no rewards. just thank yous. treats now and then if he's been behaving.
