Midwife or gyn. for well-woman care??

Help me decide... I need to make an appt. for an annual exam but I'm not sure where to go.

I had my left ovary taken out recently (long story) and am now doing fine. No additional follow-up needed. Since all is well, do I really need to see a gyn. for an annual PAP smear? Can I go to a midwife instead?

I'd like to start my relationship with a MW now so I'll have a history with her when I TTC a year from now. I'll be under the care of a MW and a MFM (another long story) during my next pregnancy, so wouldn't it make more sense to see a MW for well-woman care instead of some random ob/gyn. that I likely won't see again?

TIA for your insight...

I go to my family doctor. He delivers babies though.

I go to my midwife, no problem. Don't see any reason you need to see a gyn instead.

I've always gone to CNMs for well woman care, unless an issue develops and they refer me to an OBGYN.
