Save Books for Homeschooling Purposes or Not?

I'm currently decluttering. There are some things I was going to donate. However, I've learned that we will be homeschooling DSD. I'm wondering if I should keep my books on Mythology and the Harlem Renaissance. DSD is 11. I expect her to be interested in learning Mythology at some point. I'm not sure if she'll want to learn about the Harlem Renaissance (although I find it fascinating and some of my favorite writers come from that period). I thought I could integrate the Harlem Renaissance into Black History Month one year, providing she's interested. Maybe we can focus on one or two writers a year. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. I also have a large coffee table style book of Picasso's art and a smaller book of Michaelangelo's Life, Letters and Poetry.

To save or not to save?

Thanks!

If you have room for them, I would keep them somewhere easily accessible to her.

Mythology is a readily available library subject, but it can be hard to find an author who presents in a way that speaks to you. Maybe go through and weed out the most readily available texts/the ones that have less unique content?

As for the Harlem renaissance writers, they're a passion of yours? KEEP!!

it is very hard for me to throw out any books, but especially potential hsing books. if you have room, keep.

I vote for keep. But my solution is just to buy more bookcases.

if you donate them to your library then you can always check them out

I would keep them all. Donating to library is a good idea if space is super limited.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm finding more books on history, art, playwriting, journalism, essays, biographies of literary greats, etc. I've decided to keep them. I can see her being interested in a lot of these things. We don't currently have room for more bookcases. However, we'll be moving within the coming months to a place where there will be room for more bookcases. I'll keep the ones accessible that I think she'll be interested in referring to soon. Most of them I'll pack away until after we move and purchase more bookcases.

Thanks for helping me to think through this. From a decluttering perspective I have to be somewhat hard about what I keep or get rid of. Books is an area where I really struggle because I value them so much, especially where I think they may be of educational benefit to DSD.
