Recommend me a video monitor

We have a regular baby monitor with DS and there are so many times where I wish I knew what he was doing. Sometimes I hear weird sounds and wonder what's going on. So since I'm pregnant we figured, if we're getting one, might as well get it now.

Which one do you have?
How much was it?
Where'd you get it?
Pros and cons?

We don't mind spending a little more for a good one. I want it to last. Nothing rediculous though, please. Lol. No 500 dollar baby monitors.
Online or instore is fine. Just know that I'm in Canada.

TIA!

We also have that one, bought used from craigslist but can't remember how much... Love it to death - even wrote a post about it having saved our marriage and my sanity. The only down side is that ours has a loud hum when the volume is up high. Not sure if thats because it's older...?
Good luck!

We have this one

It works well. We do have the hum/buzz problem when the volume is up, but honestly we rarely use the volume. We can generally hear her cry from anywhere in the main floor of the house. But it's nice to know she hasn't gotten wedged somewhere weird or something. And, if DH is down in the basement he can turn on the sound if he needs to.

We have this one.

My parents bought it for us so I didn't have to stomach the cost! Seriously though, it's fabulous. You can even remotely move the camera from the parent unit! So if I realize I laid her down where I can't see her, I can move the camera to show her and even zoom in. The picture is very clear and there are no problems with the sound. It's also nice that the parent unit can be battery operated because if I go outside with ODD I can take it with us and still keep an eye on her.
