I'm just wondering who else has had a c/s after having a successful vbac. My 3rd birth was a great vba2c, and I fully expected to have another one this time. I had blood pressure issues pop up at the end and went on bed rest, then asked to be induced a few days past my due date because of it. The induction started fine, I was 1.5-2cm and 60% effaced and soft when I went in, they started with a folely bulb which got me to 4 with no trouble. I was having mild irregular contractions already, so they didn't start the pit right away, the bulb made them more regular and a little stronger. They started pit slowly after the bulb fell out and broke my water. After around 18 hours ctx got up to 2.5 minutes apart for a good four hours but I still did not progress. I effaced some more but he would just not come down. He actually went from -1 station to -2. He was having some post contraction decels so they were concerned his cord was getting pinched, so they used some device to put some water back in to give him some cushion. Anyway, the on call OB recommended c/s. I was really discouraged by no change after 18 hours and worried about the decels. I wish my OB had been there, I didn't like the on call guy.
So anyway, I agreed to the c/s. Baby did have a true knot in his cord and had swallowed a bunch of gunk, he needed a lot of suctioning and his 1 minute apgar was 3 (and he narrowly avoided meconium in the womb, he literally pooped all over the place within like a minute of being out!)
Anyway, I'm disappointed about the c/s of course, and just wondering who else has been there and how you dealt with c/s after a vbac.

I don't have any 1st hand experience but I do have a friend who had CS, vbac, CS and doesn't seem to be as comfortable about what happened as you do. She was over the moon with her vbac and couldn't beleive she was walking around the mall at 1 week pp. Unfortunately, she moved to an area and couldn't find a provider to do vbac even though she'd already had one. So, her circumstances are much different in that her last cs was planned and she believes not necessary. So I am watching this thread hoping to see ways to support her.
