My baby is here!

Bye, bye "overdue club chat"! I had a little girl on Thursday night. It was a long, strange, labor. 25.5 hours of my 26 hour labor were all natural. During the last half hour I got an epidural, that didn't work, and went from 6-10 cms almost instantly and pushed my baby girl out in 5 minutes . Second labors are faster my &%$!!! I'd like to post my birth story up here one of these days. But for now I'll say that this birth gave me hope that hospital births can be good experiences. All the nurses who cared for me were 100% respectful of me and my birth plan. I was at a disadvantage going in given the fact that I did an unassisted pregnancy for a planned hospital birth and didn't do any GD or GBS testing. But it all went smoothly. I compromised on a few things that in the end didn't really matter to me all that much anyways and I couldn't have asked for better care .

My baby girl is so lovely and my 3 year old son adores her. There have been so many sweet moments since she has been born. I feel great. All is well in my little world.

I went from 6cm to holding baby in about 30 minutes too. It was nuts and I sure would have liked that epidural for the last 30 minutes.

Congrats!

OMG, tell me about it!!! If you have made the choice to get an epidural...you want that epidural! The last thing I wanted to hear from the epi guy was "I don't think it's going to work". But as it turns out in the end I am glad it didn't work cause I got to feel her being born and was up and about walking as soon as they were done cleaning me up. I freaked out a couple of nurses who had seen me get an epidural about an hour and a half before they saw me roaming the halls lol.
