Sorry- I didn't see this post before or the one from hotmamacita! Thank you for your offers of care packages. That is so sweet. I'll pm you both! I was really worn out the end of the pregnancy but that's over now and.....

THEY'RE HERE!!!!

My girls were born Good Friday, April 9 at 39 weeks. Amelie Grace was born at 11:28am and weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces. Isabella Margaret was born at 6:09pm and weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces. Yes they were over 6 1/2 hours apart and born at home!!! It was not an easy labor or birth like I hoped it would be, being at 9 cm and all. My uterus was measuring 49 cm Thursday night when I started laboring. It was very over-extended and we had to do a lot to keep it working, but gratefully I had patient midwives who were willing to wait as long as it took to get the babies out.

Pictures are up-please enjoy:
Amelie and Isabella

So far they seem to be fraternal. My milk coming in was quite a shock. I felt very ill for a couple of days and very engorged, but it's much better now. They had already gained an ounce on day 4 and the midwife is coming by tonight so we'll see if they gained anymore. Night time is hard, but mostly because we didn't have dd (almost 3) on a good sleep schedule, but that's changed now. She co-sleeps with us, but we had to set a bedtime for sanity. I'm completely in love and just so happy to have my babies here. Thanks for all of the support!!!

I thought the same thing of my girls. They looked so different when they were born. Lillie had a head full of medium brown hair while Faith's was more of a golden blonde and she had less of it. Plus Lillie's face was a bit rounder then Faith's. We still had their DNA test done and were surprised to find out that they are identical! Once Faith's hair caught up in length to Lillie's it was obviously the same color. Now it is sometimes hard for DH or myself to tell who is who. I read a blurb in a twin magazine the other day that said that they think there is a link between mothers who are bf'ing when they conceive and monozygotic twins. I was still bf'ing when I got pg so that was kind of cool.

I took a peek at their page and they are just gorgeous!! Congrats on a wonderful delivery and such big, healthy girls!!!!
