Ladies that chart... BIG questions

I have been on BC pills for the past 4 months and I have been charting for the past 3 months. For the last two cycles I have not been ovulating which is good because that is what BC pills are suppose to do... I noticed a few patches of fertile cm a few times during those cycles but with no ovulation (because of BC pills) I felt that it wasn't important. Well, this cycle my SO and I had sex the entire first week after AF stopped, I noticed fertile symptoms, but because of my last few cycles, and my being on BC pills, I didn't think anything of it.... I guess I should have because my chart (as you can see) shows definite ovulation. *kicking myself* 3 dpo I started feeling what could be implantation symptoms... 5 and 6 dpo I started having pink/brown spotting on and off throughout the day... last night at 6 dpo I noticed it picked up some and today it has picked up more so that it is a light flow. My temps are still high for me which doesn't happen when I start my period each month... normally I have a drastic drop in temps that continue to drop (not rise again) and then AF starts the next day. I am not having any bad cramps or anything... I did stop taking my pills after I saw I was spotting so it could just be a slight withdrawal bleed from going off the pills... and my period isn't suppose to happen until October 28-31st.... so here are my questions (if they make any sense

How long after implantation can you test? Would I be able to test now? Do you think I could be pregnant or have a good chance at still being pregnant? Has anyone had an experience like this (I have read several people talk about having a light flow type of implantation bleeding that went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby)? Do you think withdrawal bleeding could interfere with any possible pregnancy/implantation?

I am freaking out and need some answers. I just want to hear about your personal experiences... and what-not....

TIA.

I just wanted to add that I am back to spotting brown/pink with tads of red here and there... so I guess the 3/4 day of light flow is now back to spotting.... Gosh I am so confused!

well. first thing, if you dont want to get pg, use a backup method from now until you get af, even though your chart does look like you o'd, just to be safe. if those were fluky temps that made it look like you o'd, you will likely o now that you stopped the pills, so dont take a chance with that if you arent ttc.

you can start testing around 8 or 9 dpo, but the avg time to a + hpt is 12 dpo, and some can be 14 or 15, vary rarely after that. your cycle may be messed up by stopping mid cycle, so af timing may be off. the pill can also interfere with implantation- that's what "plan b" does, which is just high dose bcp. but being off it now, anything could happen.

if it were me, i would call my hcp tomorrow morning and see what he/she says. likely, you are going to have to ride it out. remember too that even in a perfectly timed trying to conceive cycle, chances are less than 30%, so the odds are in your favor of not conceiving.

you may also want to talk to your hcp about changing pills. it is not normal to o half the time on bcp. you should not be o'ing, and you shouldnt be having that much fertile cm either. there are a gazillion different pills out there, i know there is one that will work better for you. in some women who do find they o on the pill, while pg rates are still very very low because of the other factors with the way the pill works, they may have better luck with a pill like seasonale, because the 7 days of no hormones each cycle is too much. some ladies decrease that time to 5 days and notice that helps prevent o'ing too. if you dont want to get pg and the pill is not effective for you- and for some, it just isnt- you might want to switch to something like an iud. there are tons of ladies here who have used both and can share that experience. i loved my mirena. i wasnt the best pill taker when i was taking it for bc, because my schedule wasnt real consistant.

and just another thought- i looked at your chart- you may want to change your ff homepage- if that is your real name, it will come up if someone googles you, and that may be more info than you care to share!

good luck!

Thank you. My first two babies were BC babies... the first one my Drs (and the prescription pamphlet) never told me that antibiotics and BC pills didn't mix so that's how she came about... my second daughter I fell pregnant with while taking YAZ religiously, never missed a pill. I am on ortho tri cyclen lo right now because it is a low dose pill and I am still breastfeeding my second daughter... I was told I cant take a higher dose unless I want to lose my milk (which I don't), and I am not a candidate for an IUD because I have an irritable uterus and an incompetent cervix. I have also been on the waiting list at my local health department for implanon (but I have been on the list since February and still no implanon...) I have no idea what BC will work for us.... we are definitely using condoms for the time being. Thank you for your reply... I changed my URL

here is the new one:

I don't see ovulation on that chart. FF is geared towards people TTC so it is "looking" for those symptoms. If that were the case then I see ovulation on your previous chart on cd21. But being on the pill won't make charting very accurate. (at least not with FF) Try changing the method to FAM and see if it takes away those CHs? cuz I think they are only going on the CM and not temps. plus cd9 would be awfully rare to ovulate on that day.
I think if you have 2 previous BCP babies, then it is obviously not the contraception for you and you need to explore other options. I mean, why wasted the money and screw with hormones when you have to chart for backup anyway? You could use charting fully as NFP if you want to head over to the CTA thread uder fertility and probably get a better plan than what you are using now.
Good luck!

Thank you for replying... I have switched around the charting options on all my charts and it still says I didn't ovulate the first two charts and it still says I ovulated on this cycle. I have asked elsewhere about Oing early and and even though its rare, it does happen.

While it is possible to O as early as day 9, it's really rare. I'd think the chances of that happening while on BCP would be even less likely. And the chances of the egg that's released that early actually being mature enough to get inseminated and successfully implant are even more slim.

I also agree with HulaJenn, in that I don't see a solid ovulation on that chart. The temperature jump on CD6 is just as drastic as CD9.

Of course, none of that means that you aren't pregnant, because "unlikely" doesn't mean "impossible" It's definitely possible to bleed after ovulation and still be and stay pregnant.

I am a bit unclear as to why you stopped taking your BCP when you thought you ovulated. As karmab mentioned, part of the way BCPs work is to prevent implantation, not just ovulation. You only let the BCPs attempt to do half their job
