a mainstream doctor visit; what tests?

Hello! My daughter is not dx with anything formally. I would say she is
probably ADHD/ADD if they want to label her as something. I am tired of
guessing what her triggers are. It is wearing on me. I have tried cutting
things out, then she still acts wild. During these times I notice her pupils
are huge in comparison to mine, so I know there is something going on
physically.

Currently, she has medicaid. I would like to use this opportunity to have a lot
of tests run. I am sure she is mercury damaged due to the dentist telling me
pregnancy was the perfect time to remove all my silver fillings. Also she has a
few silver fillings, though the dentist (different ones, seem more natural
minded) told me that they were not the mercury kind, is that possible?

I do not use Western medicine. I mean, I would if we had a broken bone or
needed an operation, that is their forte- fixing injuries. I use homeopathy,
herbal and good nutrition. So she hasn't been to an MD in ages (mostly due to the way the ped was at her 2 mo appt, he would not hear of us not getting the vax and wouldn't show me the package insert, nor could he tell me what the ingredients were, I had just begun my research and her father was there too and he made the decision at the ped's insistence). Of course we no
longer vaccinate either. Anyway, she is assigned to a local clinic by medicaid.
I really want the tests, but I am so unsure of what will happen if we go. Will
a regular clinic nurse or doctor think we are nuts for doing GFCFSF and thinking
she has food intolerances and yeast issues and possibly oxalate and or
sactilates(sp) since she is not autistic? Is all this hitting the mainstream?
I also want to know what kind of tests I need. From what I have gathered,
it is IGE, IGG, OAT I think, is that right? I plan on making the appointment by
saying I want to have her tested for food allergies and environmental toxins.
Does anyone have any experience with Medicaid and tests and all this?

I'd ask around locally and see if you can find an open minded doc that is covered by medicaid - most of what you're talking about would be absolutely foreign to most mainstream docs (IgE testing maybe, but they'll likely refer you to an allergist for that).

It sounds like she's almost guaranteed to be mercury toxic , and that's not a mainstream concept either, sadly. You might want to read about Andy Cutler's approach to mercury chelation - if I wanted metals out of my child, he's got the protocol I'd use (and have used a variant of, my child was toxic in stuff other than mercury).

Personally I'd see a board certified allergist. I can't help with the medicaid issue, sorry.

I would just take her for a standard check-up, and then go ahead and mention any concerns you have. I wouldn't get into all the diet or even mercury stuff, in your words, at least - but you could say, "hey, I'm worried she might have some food/environmental allergies and want to have her tested. Also, behavior-wise, I'd like to have her evaluated." Then, the ped will likely refer you to specialists who can help your DD out. Not sure about where you live, but I think medicaid will cover most things necessary to provide adequate healthcare to children. It's just finding HCP's that accept it. In bigger cities, this shouldn't be a problem.

That will give the doc a chance to look her over and see if there is anything you may have missed, as well as hear your concerns and answer/ask questions. It's not likely you'd be able to bypass this visit to go straight to, say, a allergist unless you were paying out of pocket or had private insurance.

In Oregon, Medicaid will only cover seeing an allergist for asthma. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high...
