Hi Mamas,
I am writing this with sadness and anticipation. This is my last month of nursing ever in my life. By Nov I will have nursed two children for 4 years each. I tandemed for 2.5 years. And I have been telling my DS that he stops at 4 YO for about 6 months. He nurses 2-3 times a day now.
I'm ready. He's ready. His older sister is definitely ready for us to stop. We have been practicing hugs and 100 kisses to replace nursing.
I just want to know what will happen to me. Will I still be a mama tiger and protect my children at the drop of a hat without the prolactin? Will I become depressed without the oxytocin? Will I lose weight or gain it? Will my boobs get even smaller?
I feel like I'm losing part of my identity, too.
Thanks for any advice.
Mo
