End of the month due date mamas - Page 4

I so know how you feel!! Every morning I wake, I'm a little disappointed that I am still pregnant. I never thought I would make it till 39 or 40 weeks. And it looks like I will be seeing my 40th week! I don't mind going that long. I'm not going to go be induced at the hospital just because I'm 40 weeks. I just really didn't think I would make it this far. But I at least need to hold out until after my husband's ortho appointment Wednesday morning. Then I can go into labor. I was kinda hoping for today, but its not looking like it.

Didn't get to sleep last night until 5AM.

I had cold sweats and a lot of shaking, it felt like just before you get sick except it lasted for hours and I never did. There was also a lot of terrible back pain. Not like contractions though, because it wouldn't go away. I'm wondering if maybe it was nerves. It was terrible, whatever it was and I would be happy if that never happened to me ever again. LOL

Still no labor, though. I wasn't really expecting it.

Still here

holothuroidea: Yikes. I've been plagued with insomnia, but the sweats and back pain sound like no fun. Do you know if anything in particular triggered it?

I feel fewer pre-labour symptoms than I did a week ago, and that's after DTD yesterday, walking tons and planting bulbs in my front garden today. I don't actually want to go into labour in the next 12 hours, because my MW is off call this weekend, which means I would have a different MW. I feel like we are just waiting at this point. I posted earlier that I though I would have a membrane sweep at my last appointment, but actually it's the next one. If I make it to Thursday, my MW will likely try to do one at 40 +3. I may schedule some acupuncture for the day before.

Had an US on Friday because I've been measuring steady at 37 weeks. MW wasn't too concerned, but thought I should go if it would set my mind at ease. The tech could barely get the measurements of the baby's head because she is so low in my pelvis, which probably accounts for the lower measurements.

Ok, be well everyone. Maybe several of us will be powering through to Halloween!!

Still here, can't believe I've passed my due date since my last FOUR kids were early! I go back and forth between OK and on the verge of a breakdown... I have had more false labor with this baby than with the rest combined. Sigh....trying to be patient, but getting sick of it! Not looking forward to being in the office tomorrow, thought for sure Friday would be my last day...

Hang in there....at least we're not alone!

I do love reading the birth stories!! Hope to read some of yours tomorrow!

I think the back pain was from all the walking I did yesterday. The sweats and shaking are probably from all the raging hormones and nerves.

I wouldn't mind having a Halloween baby (I think it would be fun!), but I definitely want this baby born in October. We have way too many November birthdays in our family!

Hey, mamas. I was due on Friday but am still here today. It's about 10PM on a Sunday night, pouring rain (and has been all day--very soothing sound on our metal roof!), and a great night to have a baby. The wood stove is going, the house is warm and prettily lit and very cozy, the freezer is packed with delicious homemade foods, the baby's first clothes are all laid out downstairs in the guest bedroom (where DH, 2yo DS, the baby and I will be living for a couple of weeks postpartum since it's on the same level as the main bathroom), the birth supplies are gathered together, and the doula and midwives are on speed dial.

Last night some very intense, regular contractions kept me up for a few hours but I fell asleep and woke up feeling nothing unusual. Today I lost two very large pieces of mucus plug and can't seem to stay out of the bathroom for long (so sorry for TMI), and the contractions have been coming again. I can talk through them but I have to sway a bit on my feet and breathe carefully to stay relaxed. Here's hoping that things will get moving soon!

One last thing: are any other second-time (or more) mamas having labor anxiety? I've done this before--I even did it at home!--so why am I nervous? Chalking it up to hormones...

Thank you SO much for the kind words, MamaFern! It really really helps to hear that the anxiety is normal.

ME! And i cant figure out why! except for the fact the DD1's labor was 36 hours, and i do NOT want to be in labor that long this time! so maybe thats it?

For second time mamas ~ I'm not scared about labor persay but I do have a healthy respect for what my body will have to do again. I do have this irrational fear that I'm going to 42 weeks and then I'll be transferred and have to do a csection. Crazy, huh!?!

I'm having lower back aches, tummy issues but no contractions. DH thinks that it will happen to do. It would be nice, but I'm so tired of being let down thinking that I'm going to go into labor.

So today I've run a bunch of errands, cleaned the bathrooms and am now going to do about 15 loads since our washing machine is finally fixed.

Well, I guess I will see 40 weeks. Hohum. So I'll be getting the last bit of my house together. Regular day to day things. And start getting the holiday things ready. Got my gift list ready. Starting on my grocery list for this weekend. Will start a menu for the next 2 weeks (our pay period) in the next few days. Just a couple more cleaning tasks to do for this afternoon and then I'll be done with the housework for the day. Then to relax for the evening. If it isn't raining this evening, I'll go for a walk around the block a few times. I'm so ready to have this baby, but its not as bad as it was the last 2 weeks. Now I am actually patiently waiting where as before I was impatiently waiting. Lol.

I'm still here! This past Saturday had regular (15-20 min) mild contractions, and when I woke up Sunday morning, discovered baby has dropped down into position. Progress! The shape of my belly is so different. Haven't had any regular contractions since Saturday. Been a bit challenging with the Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD/PGP). Could barely walk last night and it makes my eyes water. So today I've put myself on bed rest! Just staying hydrated, snacking, resting, back and forth to the loo, etc.
No mucus plug business - does that always happen before labor starts? This is my first, so still figuring out the signs.
Next OB and acupuncture appt this Thursday. I would really, really like to go into labor before then.

I think it can happen gradually over 1-2 weeks (and can in fact, re-form)-- or more quickly, 24-48 hours (or less) prior to the onset of labor.

I will be at 40 weeks in about 4 hours and I am feeling really done. Had a couple of hours of hard contractions this afternoon... but as usual, they have stopped. Baby has about 28 hours and then this will be my longest pregnancy ever. Also, I think I am getting a rash on my belly-- not sure if it is just dry skin or what.
*whine over*

Thanks for the info Anne-Marie! Sending you good labor vibes!

Oh, and another thing, my baby has had hiccups every day - my belly keeps bouncing any book I'm reading :-) OB says that it's totally normal. I've been very whiney today. Irregular contractions from both a timing and strength stand-point. Having a hard time being at all comfortable. I know labor is inevitable, but geez :-)

So...I went into labor last night about three hours after I posted in this thread. Yay!

Good luck, mamas, and hang in there! Those babes are coming soon.

Pea- just saw your announcement! Congrats, again! I guess those in this thread won't be pregnant forever.

I'm still here, hanging out. I will be 40 weeks tomorrow, but we're using the later EDD based on the first ultrasound of next Tuesday. DW and I are enjoying spending 24 hours a day together as a family of two. I'm off work which is nice and she used to work nights and now will be a SAHM, so we're just enjoying our lazy time together. I'm pretty uncomfy and ready to go. But I'm trying to be patient. I have homework from my midwife of two orgasms a day. It's exhausting and not as fun as it sounds.

I've been kinda crampy but don't know if it's practice contractions or anything. I would love to have a Halloween baby, though!

Pea ~ Just saw your annocument. So happy for you.

Last night was the third night I had major preterm labor signs and really thought it might be the night. No such luck. Trying not to be upset.

I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow and am thinking that this baby is never going to come out. (If only DS hasn't been so early! )

DS, my sister and I are headed to the beach this morning so hopefully that will keep my mind of things. Then I'm going to do some baking this afternoon.

Happy due date to me!
My children are trying to decide what to do about the "baby chain" they had made of construction paper links (they pull off one every night at dinner) now that we are down to 0. They are inclined to start adding them back in.

Annemarie, thanks for the info on the mucus plug. I suspect I have been losing mine the gradual way over the past week (hope so.) No streaks of blood though. I have two dates, one yesterday (which I think is the right one) and one tomorrow, so I am officially overdue or not quite due depending on how I look at it. Feeling crampy today, but not ctx per se. Lots of strong painful twinges in my cervix. I wonder if I will be making it to my MW appointment Thursday... I sooooooo want this baby to arrive. Pumped up my exercise ball yesterday, which was literally the last thing I had to do. Just waiting now and trying to enjoy the last days of this pregnancy. Why does it get so hard at the end?
