zombie baby noises: normal???

DS is 3 months old and a couple of weeks ago his cute "ooos" and "aaas" and the nice babble noises he was making all turned into this weird kind of drawn-out grunting noise that he makes all the time. It's similar to the little grunts he makes when he is squeezing out poops but longer. He doesn't do the old babbles anymore and it's kind of worrying me. He sounds like a zombie.

Is this normal? Will he change again and make new cute noises again? Anyone else have a babe that does this?

My DD did that for awhile. It stops eventually, then they move on to even more irritating noises-screeching, etc..It freaked me out too.

It's totally normal, mama. Babies love to experiment with the different noises they can make. My 6 month old is now in a screeching phase, and it's mostly cute though sometimes a bit tiring on the ears. I can't guarantee your little one will go back to the oohs and aahs, but his noises will definitely change as he gets bigger and messes around with different sounds.

I vote normal! We called it Demon Baby.

We call it exorcist baby

The cute sounds come back (and get even cuter!) but for us, the creepy sounds have also gotten louder lol
