Hello I am new to this forum so please excuse me if I am posting this in the wrong section.
I am 22 weeks pregnant and about to start a new job as an RN in NY where a positive rubella titer is required for all healthcare workers. My OB drew my titers about 3 weeks ago because my first OB blood work was lost by the lab and all my vaccines were up to date then.
Now I just had my medical check at the hospital and they drew the MMR titer again. The occupational nurse told me today that my Rubella Titer is NEGATIVE. I saw it on the paper so there is no way it got messed up. I can't believe how my titers can go from positive to negative within 3 weeks. My last MMR vax was in 1998.
Now I talked to my OB and she said that there is no way she would let me have the MMR vaccine while pregnant. And that means that I will not be able to work as an RN. I am crushed.
Any advice?
