Negative Rubella Titer and Pregnant

Hello I am new to this forum so please excuse me if I am posting this in the wrong section.
I am 22 weeks pregnant and about to start a new job as an RN in NY where a positive rubella titer is required for all healthcare workers. My OB drew my titers about 3 weeks ago because my first OB blood work was lost by the lab and all my vaccines were up to date then.
Now I just had my medical check at the hospital and they drew the MMR titer again. The occupational nurse told me today that my Rubella Titer is NEGATIVE. I saw it on the paper so there is no way it got messed up. I can't believe how my titers can go from positive to negative within 3 weeks. My last MMR vax was in 1998.
Now I talked to my OB and she said that there is no way she would let me have the MMR vaccine while pregnant. And that means that I will not be able to work as an RN. I am crushed. Any advice?

That is odd that your titter would change in just 3 weeks time. I would request a retest and thank goodness your OB has enough sense to not let you have the mmr vax while pg.

Ditto.

You should be able to work just fine if you have proof you've been immunized and the Measles and Mumps titers came back positive, even if the Rubella titer is negative.
I would request a re-test, though. It's entirely possible that it was a mistake, and you are may still be immune even if your levels aren't high enough to trigger a "positive" on the titer.

I am thinking the Rubella titer must not be very accurate. Mine came back negative after a couple of years ago being positive and having been exposed to it recently.

Thank you for your replies I am feeling a little better! I will get a copy of my OB's blood results tomorrow and show it to the occupational nurse. I hope she will let me re-take it. My measles and mumps titers aren't back yet. I thought that was odd that she had the rubella but not measles/mumps. I so hope that they are sufficient.
Thank you again for your advice!
