she used to wake every 3 hrs or so and its no big deal, but now shes STTN from 7pm-4 or 5 am (yay great right?) well she wakes up at 4 and literally nurses for 2+ hours. this morning no lie 3 hrs straight. i wouldnt even care if she just went to sleep and w/e but for the whole 3 hours every 20 mins she wanted to switch sides. so i did not sleep.

so what the heck do i do now?

At that age, I started giving DS a snack in the middle of the night. I would keep some puffs or cheerios ar something easy and non-messy to give him. He was literally starving and the solids helped tide him over until morning. We would nurse after he had a little snack, but it cut it down a bit and he was able to go back to sleep.

thats a great idea but i dont think DD would be cool with it lol she would literally want to start the day at 3am if i gave her food. she would not go back to sleep.

I combatted that by saying no. I would let ds nurse for a little while, and then say no more, cover my boobs, and help him fall back to sleep.

It was a rough first few nights, but he was ok. He got mad a few times, and the first few nights didn't go back to sleep, but I just kept laying him down and telling him it was still night night time, and we would get up in the morning (for me, the earliest I'll get up is 6:30am), and after the first few nights he just started going back to sleep.

my baby is VERY strong willed. i tried only letting her nurse a bit and it lead to screaming bloody murder. i tried not nursing her (cold turkey) but comforting her back to sleep by rocking singing cuddling ect ect and she screamed bloody murder for 2 hours until i finally just gave in. i dont think she will ever night wean. im so tired. this really sucks
