I need your advice

I have decided to wean my 20 month old son. I was planning to go till he was 2 but that's just a couple months before the new baby will be born and I don't wanna nurse too. I know I COULD but I just made the choice not to. So yesterday I started weaning. I normally would nurse down for a nap, down for bed and then twice in the early morning (4 and 6 normally). Well I decided to cut the nursing before bed because I KNOW he doesn't need to. (he would nurse then just get into bed and put himself to sleep) Yesterday he went from 11am in the afternoon to 4am this morning with NO NURSING and no fights. At 4am I nursed him when he asked because I was so full and hurting. He drank for about 5 mins each side then I said "all done go back to sleep", which is willingly did and didn't ask again. I must say I'm thilled. BUT....here's the question...
should I deny him milk for naps?? So I just be totally done nursing officially or cut it down to maybe 1 or 2 times in 24 hours (naps and early in the morning) for a week or so then cut one of those and so on?? I hear that as you wean your milk kinda gets a final burst of immune building qualities and then dries up slowly. Would you think this is the best route?? I don't wanna confuse him though either!! Like, ok I get milk at naps... and in the early morning but she won't nurse me to sleep at night...

opinions are very appreciated.

Thanks!!

Most moms find it easiest to eliminate 1 nursing at a time (about 1 per week) until their child is completely weaned. This helps minimize momma's discomfort with engorgement, minimizes the chances of getting mastitis, as well as allows your child to adjust to not being able to nurse, without the "cold turkey" method which can sometimes be traumatic. Continue as things are going. Sounds like your baby may be weaned faster than you think.

Thank you for that. I decided to do just that. I'm going to go ahead and nurse him for his nap and then when he wakes in the early morning. we'll go from there. Thanks!!!
