Confused...Roundabout FF vs RF

Thread Starter
DS is 2, I just realized that I think he has outgrown his RF Roundabout for height, I think that his head is at the top of the seat or above and therefore I need to turn him around to FF. My next question is, how do I know how long he can stay in that car seat FF? Maybe stupid question, but I just don't know enough about it I guess. I can't really afford to buy a new seat right now to keep him RF longer.

First, make sure you are measuring like this. He can FF in the Roundabout until his shoulders are even with the top slot, OR the tops of his ears are even with the shell, OR he hits the weight limit.

You can get a scenera for around $40 and that should be able to have him rf awhile longer.

I think a new scenera and an old style roundabout are nearly equal in shell height and the roundabout is taller if it is a Roundabout 50...the 50 is a pretty tall shell so if your ds is outgrowing that one RF, you are pretty short of affordable options for RF, radian would be taller but they are so pricey! If it isn't a 50, then you have a lot of affordable options!

I was thinking it was a regular roundabout- didn't think about it being a 50. Is the new scenera shorter than the old? Thought the old one was taller than a roundabout.

I read that the new 40lb RF one has the same shell as the original one and it seems that the shells heights are very similar according the the dimensions thread on car-set.org..I mean she might get a few more months with that extra inch but I was thinking, really a taller shelled RF seat would be such a better buy since she would have to do that anyway...
