My midwife did not stay for the c/s. I actually don't think she was "allowed" to, except as a personal guest...something with liability, etc. She did not have "rights" to be at the hospital.
I have heard another doula refuse to do a VBAC with an epi - her reasoning is that epi's put mom at high risk for rupture or subsequent C/S.
