Low cost RF for bigger kids?

Sorry for one more car seat thread.

I want to get a seat that will accommodate a bigger kid rear facing. I'm pretty sure my ds will outgrow our Evenflo Tribute 5 RF before I want him to FF. The weight limit is 30#. I'd like to get a seat that can RF to at least 40# if not more. Is the Evenflo Triumph the least expensive way to go on that?

If I want a higher weight limit am I looking at more $? What seats are out there for RF more than 40#?

TIA

The Radians are the only seats that RF beyond 40#, but the Cosco Scenera at Target RFs to 40# and is around $50.

Thanks.

I think Dd is already 40#; I'll get her weighed on Thursday at the clinic when I take ds in. I guess I probably won't get her rf again.

Ds will be okay in the Tribute for now, and I can decide later on what to get for him beyond 30#.

This is just my own personal opinion, but I would not invest $200-$300 to RF a 40# 3.8yo child.

No, I wouldn't either. I am just thinking that since ds (1yo) is going to outgrow the 30# rf seat I have when he is relatively young, that I would like to get him a different seat so that I can rf him to at least 40#. If I invest in that seat now instead of next year I might be able to rf dd (3.5yo) for a little longer.
