I thought DD (6.5 months) would have learned by now that if she sticks her fingers way back in her throat she'll gag or puke. Nope. She does it ALL THE TIME. Very messy. Anyone else's baby do this a lot?
I know that exactly... mine never threw up but gagged herself all the time. She's about 9.5 months now and I don't remember the last time she did it. She LOVES to pee on the floor and play with it though... her new developmental step! Gagging was less messy!
YES! DD has started doing this now. It is frustrating. She has been spitting up big amounts without sticking her fingers down her throat too. Lots of clothes changes.
My DH was telling his cousin today he thinks she might do it to get attention. I don't think so. Surely a 3.5 month old baby doesn't do anything but cry to "get attention" and get their needs met.
Hah! Of course she's not doing it to get attention! I doubt that a 3 month old is doing anything deliberate at all. I don't think my 6 month old really does much that I'd consider truly deliberate either, except for getting her shoes off. She's downright intent on that.
Margaret hasn't at this point..
Cecilia umm yes and hers was extreme she'd try shoving whole fists down her mouth she gag herself with spoons latter forks ect.
When shes was a bit older she'd"chipmonk" foods till she gagged...
It was beyond just those baby experiment things but we didn't get that it was a sign of somthing....
At 22 months she was finially diagnoised with oral andverbal apraxia and we came to understand that all her self choking and inability to basically self feed was connected...

my dd did this around the same age. i think she was just exploring her mouth and didn't understand that she was responsible for making herself gag (or just didn't find it unpleasant). she would do it over and over and over. she grew out of it after a few weeks i think.
silly goose.
