I'm planning on making DS a weighted blanket and need an idea of size and weight specifications. He just truned 3 and weighs 30 pounds. I've heard 10% of body weight plus one pound is a good weight, this would be a 4 lb blanket. But what size is the blanket supposed to be? TIA

When looking for the info I'm finding mixed numbers. I think weight would depend on the size for sure, a larger blanket is going to disperce the weight more so the blanket itself may weigh more. So with that in mind I think aiming for the %10 is probably a good starting point and adjust based on size?

It's a good idea to make it adjustable so you can add or remove weight easily. It's also a good idea for you to be able to disperse the weight over many locations. I made a weighted blanket and found out that the 10% figure was too high for DS. No problem, I just removed some of the weight bags. I can add them back in later when he gets heavier.
