Vegan "Woolies"?

I know the title makes no sense!

Right now I'm trying to work on a system to stop my DS from leaking through his diaper 2 x a night. Right now we do Bum Genius AIO with 2 inserts. I try feeling his bum a few times a night () to catch the leaking before it gets everywhere, but he always sneaks it past me... Until I wake up in a wet bed.

I like the idea of wool longies to help keep him dry, but we're vegan...and even if I bought them second hand, you still have to lanolinize them (if I understand correctly)..and I'm not comfortable with that.

Does anyone know of any kind of vegan alternative? Would acrylic yarn be as effective?

We used one of these for a time and it worked very well.

We had a couple of pairs of thick synthetic fleece pants that held wetness in pretty well.

I was going to suggest fleece also. I've heard very good things about Dancing Bears covers - they have a day and night version if I recall correctly, sounds like you'll want the night weight one.

ditto- DD id a side sleeper so she started leaking out of her BG3.0s. I researched and have ordered 2 nightweight dancing bears, but they must be hung up in customs because there's no sign of them yet- I hate customs

I think I'm going to order the dancing bears too! I went to their website, and this is on the front page..

"Dancing Bears will be closed from September 28 through mid November."

Maybe that's the cause for the delay?

I'll put a plug in for Wallypop, who made our very favorite fleece covers back in the day.

thick fleece pants over the nighttime diaper (we used a stuffable aio w/ hemp insert) worked well for us. DD was in wool during the day, but could not be at night b/c we co slept & I can't have prolonged contact w/ wool (makes me itch like crazy).
