Stomach Bug...HELP!

I have an almost 1 year old (I put this in toddler because he has been walking for two months and is like a toddler to me.) who has some sort of stomach bug. I called the Dr. and they had me leave a msg for the nurse. In the mean time, here is the deal:

He is ONLY sick at night! No fever. Acting totally normal all day long. I kept his food simple yesterday but he did eat bits of things and nursed completely fine. At night, he vomits everything he has eaten and every time he nurses, he vomits within 5 minutes until it's stomach acid.

I don't know what to do. He is scared and it seems in pain when his stomach is lurching. I feel so bad for him and I want to do something but I don't know what it is so I don't know what to do.

I guess what I am wondering is if anyone else has had this or heard of this. I am hoping it's not food poisoning although, I think that happens all day long. I just don't know what only affects him as night!

Thanks so much!

it could be allergies, it could be a flu, it could be a number of things. poor baby!! can you call some sort of nurse hotline? our hospital and some insurance companies offer a 24/7 nursing hotline and they cangive medical advice over the phone. better than calling the dr and getting a answering machine (although i've had to do that a couple of times). how many nights has it been like this? i would only let this go 2-3 nights, then i would take the LO in for a check up. even if it was just allergies a reaction shouldn't be this bad.

poor baby!

I did talk to the nurse and she sent the Dr a message. She is going to call me back. It's been going on for 2 nights. I am exhausted and I feel so bad for him. I didn't think about it being allergies. I just can't imagine what is only affecting him like this at night. I did think that maybe he is feeling nauseous all day long and not actually vomiting because he has some control over it but at night when he is in deep sleep, he loses that control?! I don't know. I am grasping for straws! Thanks for your response though! I will mention allergies. It very well could be! I am not one to run to the Dr. but it seems these last few months, I am always calling! We have had a cough for weeks here and a stomach bug that seems to be cycling over and over. I am tired of being sick despite our vitamins and healthy eating! Oh my....

I just now thought, maybe we have a mold issue???? As I typed out that we have had a cough for several weeks it hit me...we rent and maybe under the house, there is mold????? Hmmmmm....I will have to mention that. I know mold is serious and this could be an effect from it??? Goodness.
