Bumps on face/arms?

My DS has little raised bumps on his cheeks (though mostly one side) and his upper arms, and has had them for about as long as I can remember (he's 11 months). They seem just like the keratosis pilaris bumps I get on my upper arms, which I've read can be hereditary. I don't have any reason to think its bothering him, and they're not red or inflamed really, just... there. And he doesn't generally have very sensitive skin. I was thinking of trying Cetaphil to see if that helped. Anyone else seen this?

DD had these on her face and neck, and I have KP as well, so thought it was that. On a whim, I switched detergents for her stuff, and they went away (for her, not for me...) Hers were a reaction to the detergent we normally use! (which is pretty mild anyway, and I always do a double rinse on her clothes/paraphernalia so I was surprised)

Just the other day, one of her washcloths fell in with the "grown up" laundry, and I used it anyway. little bumpies back within hours.

Other than these little things, her skin isn't that sensitive either..
