Cloth Addiction anyone???

Thread Starter
I registered today and I went a bit nuts but I could not help it. I LOVE prefolds and I wanted AIO for child care and I love Fitteds Mother ease OS. I really wanted to register for the Kissaluvs but held back.

Has anyone used the AIO Grovia? They looked amazing and I like that they have cotton inside not polyester which feels really awful on my hands. Registered for those too...Oh and Organic Bumgenius too...

I also want wool covers and Thirsties.... Seriously though I think this is my new addiction. Everything is so cute and adorable I cant hardly stand it. Does any one else just want some of everything?? I cant imagine just getting one kind of diaper. I want them all. Cotton or hemp though.

Ok I went nuts today but I feel good about the store, she is local the ONLY CD store in the state and I love supporting local green biz not Babies R Us, Target, Walmart , etc. I really want her to have MORE and MORE biz and MORE people go Cloth.

LOL! I totally get the cloth love! it is good to have a little bit of everything b/c you never know what will fit or work for your LO.

FM: I am losing the Grovia love; the velcro/aplix just doesn't hold well, and for all it says it is one-size, my 18 and a 1/2 lb 11 month old is on the largest setting, and has been since he was 16 lbs (or whatever he was 4 months ago when I switched to cloth). He is a lean man. I don't like having to snap in inserts. I would rather lay in like pre-folds or FLIPS or stuff, like pockets for a two-piece system. But that is just me.

At first my stash was more varied, I had grovia/grobaby, FLIPs, prefolds and covers, and bottombumpers. I sold the bottombumpers. Now I have pockets, FLIPS, grobaby/grovia, and prefolds covers. I want to get rid of my grobaby/via but not sure I can get more than FFS. They are getting small on DS, he can easily remove them himself (shoot, sometimes they come unfastened inside his pants from the friction!) and the outside is sort of pilly. And the insides seem irreversibly stained on some of them. (end of rant)

Everytime I go on diaperswappers I find so much to love! but I am holding back. I think I want more pockets/AIO's . . .with snaps! I think I find as he gets older my wants change a lot.

You sound like me! I also am loving tons of things (my baby isn't due til May LOL), and I also don't like the way microfiber feels on my hands (like it catches on my skin... it's like nails on a chalkboard to me!).

The PP already mentioned what I've heard about Grovia--that they don't seem to go very large. I was also interested in the organic cotton soakers.

My sister and a good friend both use gDiapers and are very happy with them. My friend uses the cloth inserts (hemp and then a fleece layer against baby's skin) and my sister uses both the cloth and disposable/flushable/biodegradable inserts. One thing I like about gDiapers (since I have the fabric texture issue) is that the gPants are knit--they're not waterproof, but they have a waterproof snap-in insert, and the absorbent part fits inside of that.

I'm also thinking about ordering a bumGenius Elemental (organic) to try since it has the all-cotton inner--and also a Swaddlebees Econappi.

Annnnnnnd I'm waiting for GreenMountainDiapers to get their prefold fitteds back in stock, 'cause I'd like to try those with Thirsties covers (I used Thirsties covers with my son and really liked them). I figure it doesn't hurt to try a few of those, since they're very inexpensive.

All of that being said, some people have warned me that my baby *may* be sensitive to the wetness that will be against their skin naturally when using cotton. That's why many people favor a layer of fleece right next to baby's skin (and I think I can handle fleece.. just not "microfiber" or "microterry"). Sooooo I will probably try FuzziBunz too. (I have a couple of the perfect size in my cart on a website right now since they're having the "overstock sale.")

Like you I'm kind of all over the place... but I'm ok with buying one each of several different kinds so that I can try them all and see what works best for MY baby.

I can't wait til May!
