Tell me my friend is lying.

So the past two weeks, it's been like I'm newly preggo again. Insane mood swings, crying over everything, I can smell my neighbor fart, I'm nauseated and my DH is a complete and total $(%&#((%)@)%*#.

I'm telling this to my BFF who is a nurse and she tells me that it is possible and NOT UNCOMMON for another egg to drop, and can become fertilized, even if you're already pregnant. I think she's a lying sack, but I called my mother and she said "it's not unheard of."

They're good friends, too, so PLEASE tell me they cooked this up to freak me out! Has anyone else heard of this? i don't even know what to google at this point. "Is it possible to get pregnant when i'm already pregnant" seems like google will send back "OMG you're stupid".

Wow. It is possible. It's very rare though, and if it were to happen, it's more likely to happen within a month.

So she's not lying but definitely messing with me. Meanie.

I have heard of it but I understand it to be rare.

Hmm....I worked in ob/gyn offices for a few years and even worked as an ultrasound tech for ob offices for about two years, and have never seen it.

It's called superfoetation. And it is possible but it's extremely rare in humans.

Time Magazine ran an article on it last year. The article states that there are only ten recorded cases in the world.

I don't know that your friend is lying. She could be just misinformed. Is she the sort who tells tall tales in order to get attention?

She likes to mess with me. We prank each other a lot (We've been best friends since we were six)

I have also heard of it, but it's rare. She probably does want to freak you out.

I have heard of that before but never met anyone who has experienced it.

I've heard of it, but only with babies conceived a month apart, and then from what I've read the way they first notice is that one is measuring ahead of the other on an ultrasound.

i would guess you are just having a normal hormonal fluctuation. they happen.

Possible, but so extremely rare it isn't something to worry about.

I am also due March/April 2011 and I have been feeling the same thing. I lost my breakfast this morning and was annoyed by a smell in the breakroom. I haven't felt that way in weeks. I wonder if there is a second surge in hormones or something?
