I am so frustrated! Please Please help :(

So my lo has had a rash since he was 3ish months and he is almost 7months old. I have seen 3 docs and they tell me its fine and put some cream on it. Well I have put many different creams on it and it won't go away! I have tried natural remedies as well as I know it is yeast and the doctors say its not because its not in his creases which it does go there but then goes away. He has always had it above his penis and in his butt. But idk if some red is normal around the butt?

It is pimple like above his penis and ring on butt and also he has at times red where he pees to. The weird thing is that the rash comes and goes on its brightness and being irritated. I can not figure it out! I am off dairy and I have yeast issues as well which we are both on probiotics but I saw yesterday that they had some traces of soy and milk.... could it be that??? I have a hard time knowing what to eat and know it can take a long time to show improvements once the intolerated food is not in my milk. His rash seems to worsen when I have fruits but apples and kiwi. So stopping that. I wish I could just know if its a yeast problem by itself or yeast and food intolerance or allergen.

It is so frustrating when doc do not even give me time to explain but dismiss it like it normal to have a rash this long????????? Um a month is way tooo long let alone 4!!!!! I don't know what to do...........I feel so bad for my little guy. I notice at times he fusses before he pees. Could that be a UTI????

Please please give me any suggestions or help that you can think of! I am sure I have left something out but all that I have done and his issues are alot to write down.

TIA

IME doctors are generally unconcerned by eczema or really any rash that isn't symptomatic of something drastic.

My ds2 had a rash on his face for 5ish months from when he was 4 months until he was 9 months). We eliminated everything we could think of and nothing helped. He didn't seem fussed by it (though it looked really raw!) so we left it alone and, presto, it went away one day.

Ds1 (3.75 yrs) has eczema all over his body in winter which goes away like a snap in May or so. We've never been able to link it to food or detergent or anything. It has just come back about a week ago and it's very itchy. We're trying extra virgin coconut oil and that seems to help control the itch. If that fails, we've heard Lipikar Baume by La Roche Posey is *the* fix...only it's like $50/bottle here so we're trying the coconut oil first.

Also, ds1 had a patch of rash on his tummy between his belly button and his penis for several months as an infant - cloth or disposable didn't seem to matter and no cream made it go away. Again, it didn't bother him, so we eventually left it alone and it disappeared.

As long as your LO isn't fussy and your dr isn't concerned, I'd just keep an eye on it. I've learned that kids get rashes for unidentifiable reasons sometimes.

If fruit seems to make it worse, it could be a reaction to salicylates. There's lots of threads in this forum on salicylates (sorry, I'll pop back with more tomorrow if I have a chance).

Have you tried supplementing vitamin D? Sounds like it comes and goes around the time the ability to make vitamin D from the sun disappears for most of us in North American latitudes.

(I'd try 2000mg of vit D3 a day for a couple of weeks and see if the eczema improves).

I would suggest doing the ALCAT food panal to determine what his food intolerances are.

My son had horrible eczema as a baby and the ped just gave me creams which worked a little bit,but I didn't like the chemical component or the fact that we were not getting to the root of what was causing it.

So...I took my babe to a Naturopath and we did the ALCAT panal of 500 different foods. The results were shocking. He had intolerances to foods such as bananas (his fave,he was eating 2 a day) and many other common healthy foods in our household.

Once I eliminated these foods, no more rash.

Now he is a little older and I am able to give him some of the foods on the list, but space them by 3-4 days and he's ok.

I wish you well mama. Been there...sucks.

Also, put a little carrier oil in his bath to keep skin moisturized. I use grapeseed, but there are others you can get at the healthfood store. I also put in a few drops of lavender essential oil.
