glucose test breakfast and lunch

My glucose tolerance test is coming up. The doctor didn't give me any specific instructions as to what I can and cannot eat. But I know it's best to avoid sugary foods and carbs before the test. But my test is at 3 pm. So I've got breakfast and lunch to deal with. If I eat at 9 am do I need to worry about what I'm having for breakfast? (not that I'm planning on having frosted flakes or anything). Also I'm having trouble of thinking of foods that are ok to eat before the test. (all I can think of are eggs and cheese, which is not what I want to eat for breakfast and lunch).

(sorry, that's all that's coming to mind right now.)

I ate eggs and cheese with water (I know not what you want) for lunch I ate rolled up lunch meat with cheese. I took my test at 1 - well I drank the stuff at noon and took the blood draw at 1.

You could eat chicken or beef. I looked a beans but we only baked beans and the protein content wasn't high. I stayed away from juice, and fruit and pasta and other carbs. Having protein for both, I had no issues with the test, it didn't taste grossly sweet and I didn't feel sick or anything after I drank it.

hmm....trying to think of other high protein stuff - maybe something like beef and bean chili? Breakfast you could have sausage or ham or bacon.

I don't have specific food suggestions but the only instruction from my doc was not to eat anything 2 hrs before the test, so maybe an early lunch?
