Best Week by Week Pregnancy Book

Hey ladies,

Got my first BFP today! So excited to become a parent!

I would love to get a nice book, with pictures and info, about all that's happening week by week. I want to look at it with my partner at night in bed

Anyone got a favorite? I'm envisioning almost like a coffee table kind of book, but maybe that doesn't exist

Just wanted to say congrats, Mama!!!!

I don't know of a week-by-week book that is more natural minded (they are all quite mainstream) but the one I was gifted during my first pregnancy was pretty good. I did not do most of the testing and "routine" stuff so some of it did not apply, but it gives some good info and explains nicely how the baby is growing and what exactly is happening in there

See you in the July DDC!!

Congratulations! I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Pregnancy-Week...7707683&sr=1-7 and really like it. It was especially fun to look at in my first few pregnancies, when everything was so new and exciting . It's got a spiral binding and each glossy page is for a week, it has a nice picture on each page and info about how the baby is developing and how the mom is probably feeling. It's somewhat mainstream, but not as much so as some others I've seen.

My favorite so far, and it is totally a coffee table type is Birth to Conception. http://www.amazon.com/Conception-Bir...8607194&sr=8-1 Love the pictures in it. Will soon own it myself!

Thank you for the suggestions! Since I wrote this, my partner and I have watched the NOVA series about conception online. It's been great to watch it in bed in little snippets. Totally fascinating, especially early in pregnancy, because the 1 hour show spends a lot of time on the early stuff.

I have Your Pregnancy Week-by-Week by Glade Curtis. I wouldn't recommend it. Definitely a bit on the scary side about what can go wrong. I paid 25 or 50 cents at a thrift shop so at least I didn't spend a lot of money on it. I tend to read just the first two paragraphs of each week.

I like the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy. Takes all the "scary" stuff and puts it in the back. The week by week is informative.

Once you find a good week-by-week book you like, definitely check out this. It's a wonderful read, especially if this is your first baby and you really have time to savor the experience and reflect on what's going on.
