Could really use some ideas

I volunteered to be the Recycling Coordinator for DD's K/1 class this year. Basically, I just promote myself to the class parents and try to get them to bring me their bottles and cans so we can make some extra cash for the classroom. I'd like to set monthly goals and create a chart so the students can follow the year long progress.

Besides making a monthly flyer (small!) and attending class meetings to remind the parents we are doing this, I was wondering if anybody here might have some really cool ideas for the kids. They are kindy/1st grade, so nothing too elaborate. Maybe something as simple as just getting a sheet of posterboard and doing a graph chart with $ on it? I was just hoping for something a little more exciting for the kids. LOL!

Perhaps have small rewards associated with reaching certain (attainable) dollar amounts on the chart. Get the kids excited about it so they bug their parents too.
