sudden exzema AGAIN, is ginger allergy possible?

We battled exzema and had it under control and almost rid all our food sensitivities. Lately DD is getting a little rash on her arms, and sometimes a spot under her neck. I DID buy just the cheaper soy sauce instead of Braggs, grocery budget is just tighter, tryign to make subs here and there. She LOVES teryiaki, and strangely never had a soy allergy despite all the others. I used to just put a tiny pinch of dry ginger but started using quite a bit of fresh. One of her favorite foods is chicken teryiaki and she's eaten it lately and gotten a rash. Ugh. I am frustrated and feeling helpless as we haven't had any issues for a long time. I did get a rotisseirre chicken which I normally don't do. Any ideas? I just DREAD going to the pediatrician because it's a pill or a cream, and I cannot find another ped right now

Gluten? Most soy sauce has gluten.

Tamari is a wheat free soy sauce..so good.

Go to a naturopath and have an ALCAT panel done. You'll be able to find out what food intolerances your child has. I did this because my baby had bad eczema and it ended up being foods like banans, oranges, spinach,mushrooms,ect..got rid of these food and no more excema.

Children can be intolerant or allergic to anything, but given that you gave her soy sauce I am going to second the gluten issue over ginger. Most commercial soy sauces are actually wheat-based.

Well i know it's not gluten, she eats it often and it was negative. I think she somehow had some kind of MSG or spice extract kind of thing in something.

Ugh - it's so frsutrating! I can totally relate right now, given dd's issues. If I were you I'd remove all suspects and see if the eczema goes away. Then I'd challenge them one by one.

it would be the high salicylates in ginger that would do it for my son.... allergy testing does not reveal food chemical intolerances b/c it's not the immune system reacting.

I'm really starting to think it's the sals in foods. I need to look further in to this and find the foods to watch for. SHe randomly every so often gets a rash and it's usually something not common (like her past egg, tomato, berry allergy rash) and I can't figure out what food it could be. I don't know so much about the high sal foods

ETA: so if I used to use a tiny pinch of dry ginger, and now I used a lot of fresh, would there be a difference?

Tomatoes and berries are very high sal. Yes a large amount would mean more food chemicals vs. a smaller amount, bigger reaction.
