I had a bunch of tests done and everything looks good except I have low progesterone. I'm starting 200mg of prometrium vaginally after I ovulate this cycle. I'm feeling so hopeful but also want to be realistic so I'm curious how helpful progesterone was for you. If you took it, had you been tested for low progesterone? Did you have any other problems, or just low progesterone? Thanks!

Did progesterone work for you?

Progesterone does work for me in that it lengthens my luteal phase. My blood tests don't show dramatically higher progesterone levels when I am taking prometrium (but they are more normal rather than being actively low), but since my luteal phase is longer I know it is doing something. I don't have any other problems besides low progesterone.
Good luck!

Progesterone, combined with clomid, is the only reason I have my two younger girls.
I was put on clomid while ttc #2, but my progesterone level remained low. (around 5-6) The clomid helped me conceive, and I still was able to implant and make it past af, but would have to be supplemented heavily after testing +. They also think that is what caused a couple of my m/c. After my last m/c at 12 weeks, the RE decided to try a clomid/progesterone(from O) combo. It worked. I had no problems sustaining the pregnancy, and we used the same method for our third. This time I'm trying soy to see if it helps, but will most likely end up on clomid/progesterone if it doesn't.
I was on 200mg/prometrium from O. My levels at 13dpo, after my + test, was 15.7, the highest I'd ever seen it.
Good luck to you!

I tested low on progesterone between DS and DD1. I was on clomid and prometrium to get (and stay) pg with DD1. After DD1 I managed to get pg without help, but didn't think to get on progesterone, and I m/c'd. With DD2 I used OTC progesterone cream until I tested + and then immediately went on progesterone suppositories.

I'm not sure which one it was that worked, clomid, HCG shot, or the progesterone I was on until 11 (maybe 10) weeks. my number was always low I think the highest t got was 11.5 or maybe it was 10.5. with DS they stopped testing it after HB. But DS was born! 2 years of IF
I didn't have issues this time around.

I lost a pregnancy at 5.5 weeks, it was what appeared to be a blighted ovum. But because my prog levels had been low during that pg, I was given supplements for the next pregnancy, beginning one week after O.
I always had a normal 12-13 day luteal phase, but I have endo, and low progesterone is a common effect. I'm not sure what my tested levels were, but they were low enough to prompt my RE to prescribe 200 mg lozenges 3x daily, which were then increased to 4x daily at 4 weeks pregnant. DD is sleeping beside me now!
Even my RE won't definitively say that low progesterone caused my first m/c, or that the supplements saved my second pregnancy, but there's my story, for what it's worth.
Good luck!
