Rudi's GF Bread Vs. Udi's GF bread

(Apologies in advance. I hope that I get my Rudi's & Udi's straight. Such similar names!)

Has anybody eaten both, or at least the Rudi's brand? I'm wondering if the Rudi's brand is any good. I just don't want to buy it and have DH complain that it is the rubbery type of GF bread... he definitely will complain if it isn't soft like the Udi's.

I've never seen the Rudi's brand in the store here and we usually get the Udi's brand for DH. He really likes the Udi's, but our co-op has the Rudi's on sale for half of the price of the Udi's. For $3/loaf, I am definitely buying a case of it if it is any good!

I've never seen Rudi's GF, just organic, but I LOVE Udi's GF. Honestly, he's gonna think you're giving him regular bread!!!

Wow, where is your co-op? We only have Udi's but tried Rudi's gf while traveling. Rudi's is regular bread sized, which is nice. I think I might slightly prefer Udi's but at $3 a loaf, I'd jump on that price! It's soft like Udi's, but slightly sweeter, I think. My DH didn't really have a preference between the 2.

Thanks for the sale heads-up...our coop has the Udi's on sale for like $3.50 a loaf, so I just bought a case, and am seriously considering 2 if DH can get our other freezer back home and plugged in! When I buy a single loaf, not in a case, it costs $5.60!!! Did you check on Udi's prices? Our coops might just have different distributors though.

Our co-op orders through UNFI. The Rudi's is listed on the hot sheet deals for $3.08/18 oz loaf (case of 8) and I just looked and the Udi's is actually on the October monthly specials list for $3.41/12 oz loaf (case of 8). It is good to know that the Rudi's is pretty decent as well... and since the loaves are bigger and cheaper, I'm going to order a case for DH to try this time. If he hates it, I'll just make him bread pudding and he won't complain. When I get a single loaf of the Udi's at WF, I think it costs $5.99/loaf. Being able to buy it for half price definitely makes up for the freezer space that it will take up.

BTW, UNFI has a lot of other GF items (mixes and frozen dinners and soups and stuff) on the hot sheet list this month...

Nosy - when you tried the Rudi's, do you remember if you had the multigrain, original sandwich, or cinnamon raisin? Trying to figure out which one to order for DH...

Hmmm...I need to look into joining a co-op. I think it was the sandwich bread definitely not the raisin or multigrain.
