What's with the "token tinkles"?

I've been sort of Ecing since DD was 6 weeks. I use CD so I ECed mainly to catch poops because I didn't want to have to deal with poopy diaper stains. My goal was to catch all poops before she started solids because those poops really stink! She's doing great with the poop and we haven't had a miss in almost two weeks. Pees however are another story. I started actively trying to catch the pees a little later probably around three months. She'll pee on the potty but only a tiny bit. I thought for a while that that was just the amount she peed but I've realized that she actually has to go a lot more because if I check her diaper a half hour later it'll be soaked. So how do I get her to do more than just token tinkles on the potty?

run some water?
give her a contraband item to play with to keep her there longer until she relaxes? (car keys, cell phone, etc)
sing a special song or read some books?
if she uses a paci, offer that at the same time? (I noticed in the nighttime if I nurse DD while on the potty she will pee in a couple of "bursts" in a row... never wanted to establish that as our normal pottying thing though so I didn't generally nurse her while pottying in the daytime).

how old is she now? My dd peed very frequently at first-- esp in the mornings, like every 15 minutes for the first 90-120 minutes of the day-- but eventually she consolidated. afternoons were always longer stretches.

As pp said depending on the age they can pee that frequently. With dd we'd sit on the potty for quite a while for her to relax and do her business. Now with ds he's a get over type of guy - same with nursing, LOL. So I'd say try getting her to stay of on the potty longer and offering more freuqently. DD at 3 months was still going potty about every 20-30 minutes

My dd actually pees easier on the potty than poops. I do notice, sometimes, that she won't be when i know she needs to. In that case, she invariably pees 5 minutes later in her diaper. When I notice that trend I put her back on the toilet in 5 minutes. She usually goes. I think they sometimes can't pee with an audience, just like us and they need a few minutes to realize that they really do have to go!

DD is six months so she can go about an hour between pees.

Since I last posted she's had a couple good days where she fully peed on the potty a few times. It seems that if we catch the first of the day she'll keep using the potty but if not she just refuses. She's on the potty a good 10 minutes first thing in the morning and she always poops but rarely pees. I'll take her off the potty, sit her in her bouncy chair for a minute so I can get dressed and she'll pee in the chair! During the day I'll offer after every nap and she might go a little but almost never the full amount. During the day I can usually keep her entertained on the potty for 5 minutes but she just won't go. Is that long enough do you think?
