I am hoping to find some answers or at least someone else who might be experiencing the same thing I am. I am 34, and since I was 21 I have had horrible hot flashes where my entire body heats up and I start sweating perfusely. It happens all the time, and is SO annoying. I think it is in direct relation to stress, because when I get overwhelmed the heat begins and runs from the bottom of my back to the nape of my neck and then just engulfs my whole upper self.
SInce I became a mom, it has really intensified, especially when my son starts crying. He is now 2, and it happens when he cries or starts acting up. It happens with all kinds of situations.
When I was 23 I saw a doctor for it, and the doc said it was anxiety and started me on Prozac. The hot flashes went away. I was on that for 7 years, but then got off prozac to start trying to get preggo. Soon after stopping prozac, the hot flashes come back in full force.
Anyone have any idea what I can do to help? (I don't want to get back on prozac, as I had other complications with the side effects) Anything natural? Anyone have any idea WHY this might be happening?
