So im really thinking i need to start taking a post natal vitamin or something. im nuring my 2 years old and he is still a avid nurser. and honestly i feel like i am not able to eat enough calories or nutirents in the day to support both of use. i feel drained and weak all the time.....
so that being said i've been thinking of getting the Mother and Child post natal by Pure Essence labs and was wondeirng if anyone else takes this or something there like it??
or have an other suggestions...

I've just taken a prenatal as my postnatal, since that's recommended a lot for nursing moms. I agree, if I don't eat leafy greens and protein I get run-down feeling, but with a vitamin I at least don't totally freak out. I also plan to take iron, b/c I tend to be anemic and I want lots for baby (we also cook with cast iron, but only for some dishes, maybe once a week or so). I haven't heard of that vitamin but just look at what's in it and you can tell if it's good Oh, and Vitamin D is huge for me, too-- I take extra of that, like, iron, b/c I want a TON of it

yeah, this post natal has 1000u of vitamin d per serving. i friend of mine has taken it for quite some time now..... but it's $50 a bottle @ 180 tables. it's 30 servings.....

so im just wondering if pre or post vitamins make a noticable difference

I notice when I slack on my supplements, it's been a long time since my most recent child was born, but I did find that pregnancy and nursing were very nutritionally draining to me, so I'm sharing anyway.

One option for a multivit (and separate multi-mineral if you want) is Thorne brand, available lots of places online and it has good forms of vits/mins--it has real folate instead of folic acid, various nice forms of minerals, and it's a reasonable price. Basic Nutrients is the multivit, and various versions ending in -mins for minerals if you want more than the Basic Nutrients provides (I just mention it because they have lots of stand-alone supplements as well, so looking through the entire product list can be overwhelming).
