what are you making for your LO?

I just made some felted wool booties (following this pattern). I added little felted wool bunnies to the uppers.

Thinking of doing a waldorf/kruse doll next: http://simmy.typepad.com/echoesofadr...instructi.html

I'm so proud of myself, and I'm curious to know what baby-sized projects others are working on. Let's inspire each other!

Yay! Love this thread! I haven't had much time or energy to make anything at all, really (started a quilt months ago and its still just hanging out on my sewing table...which is so cluttered that the sewing machine isn't visable!) but I get endless inspiration (for things I wish I had time for) from SouleMama. I've just ordered Handmade Beginnings and Bend the Rules Sewing and they should be arriving this week! So excited! I'm a beginner and I need some fun ideas to get me into it. I plan to make lots of pants for ds. He's 6 months and really long, but skinny, so anything that fits his waist ends up being shorts on him. I'm thinking about making them extra long so I can cuff them so as he gets taller I can just take a stitch out and unroll. I'm also hoping to have some time to make some fabric hats and possible a couple on my Knifty Knitter. I wish I had time for more! I want to learn how to really knit and have found a couple of youtube series' that are geared for young kids- might be an easy way for me to learn if I find the time.

Waldorf style dolls are awesome! I'd love to make one for ds...do you think 6 months is too young? I'm not sure if he'd be interested in it yet...perhaps for his first birthday?

I'm making a Little Devil Hat for DS - it's for Hallowe'en but should fit him for a while afterwards. I also want to try my hand at making him a cardigan.

I also saw some pictures of knitted animals and may make him one for Christmas.

Has great easy-to-follow instructional videos. I've learned so much from that site! Stitch N' Bitch by Debbie Stoller is also a wonderful book I still refer to often.

So yeah, I love knitting! I'm currently working on a simple hat and scarf for DS, but it's going incredibly slow as I can only ever do like 2-3 rows at a time! I used to knit on the train on my commute, but now I'm mostly not working and usually have DS w/me on the train so I can't anymore. I miss that!

yay, knitting! i've been knitting little socks for my LO, tube-style, no heel.

liz, charlie got a simple knitted doll in the NICU that was his first "toy." he's loved looking at his "face" since he was 8 weeks, and now talks to him. i don't think 6 months is too young at all!

eta, i love that devil hat, haha

I have that book! I've actually read through all of it and loooove the intro to knitting history it provides. Sentimentality is totally my thing. I've actually had the book for a couple of years now but I really need a video or one-on-one learning situation to show me how so I'm gonna check out that website when I have a chance! Good luck on your projects!
