red spot underarm

hi mamas,
12 week old dd has this gigantic red spot under her arm. It is stinky and had skin peeling from it. She isn't super chubby yet, but definitely has a little roll where this is? Could it be a yeast rash? What is it?

Mine had that too and in her neck as well. It is a rash like a diaper rash, put some cream on it and it should clear up in a day or so.

Well, my Ds is 19 wks and weighs 17 lbs and he def has these spots your talking about. To get them to clear up I gave him a bath every day ( sometimes with baby soap sometimes not) made sure to pat all of his um, rolls dry. And last but not least I used plain old diaper rash cream on it. In a couple of days it cleared up and now a couple of times a day I put a little baby powder in his pits to keep them nice and dry

Yup, mine got that too. I didn't even know it was possible to get diaper rash in your armpits and neck until I had my second child. I always used a little Butt Paste and it was generally gone the next day.

Sounds exactly like what we had. Doctor diagnosed it as yeast. A dose or two of antifungal (vinegar, GSE or OTC cream), and it was gone. Good luck!

thanks mamas, putting some thrush cream on it. Doesn't seem to bother her but I guess it is just another one of those things that you don't know about until you have a baby.
