Okay, I have had three babies with whom I used cloth, the first two I used a service exclusively, the third I used a service for the first few months then fuzzibunzs, I am now on my fourth and she is ULTRA SENSITIVE to the pee, I cannot change her diaper fast enough and her bum is red and sometimes welty. I used disposables for a few nights with Burt's Bees bum cream and she seems so much more comfortable. Is there any barrier creme I can use with the cloth? Or any other suggestions? Right now I have Kissaluvs AIO's, Fuzzibunz with Rainforest inserts, prefolds, what can I do so that she does not get red as soon as she pees. Also she is so sensitive her bum was getting red with cloth wipes because they were so rough. I don't mind changing her right away, she usually lets me know. All of my other kiddos were basically rash free except for thrush yeasty, so this is new.

I would definitely suggest stripping the diapers. We use FuzziBunz and don't have rash issues unless there is build-up, then she gets rashes that sometimes almost look like sores (or welts, as you said). As for the rash cream, I've got to suggest CJ's BUTTer! It works so fast and is great for all skin types, PLUS it's perfectly safe for cloth diapers. You don't even need a liner because it won't stain and washes out when you wash your diapers. I've actually just posted a CJ's BUTTer giveaway on my blog if you'd like to check it out! You could win a big 2oz. stick 'o' butter in the Blueberry Crumble scent (the scent oils won't irritate skin, either)! It's heavenly!

Hi Mama,
My son is pretty sensitive too so I do an extra hot cycle about once a month but also I alternate between PUL and wool/fleece and always use wool/fleece for naps and overnight and he is having FAR fewer rashes/redness episodes. I also cut up old fleece sweatpants and made "liners" which are not the least bit pretty but I throw them in when I think he could use some diaper cream and then it doesn't get on my diapers - and also supposedly "wicks" the wetness away from him. I don't do this all the time b/c it isn't a natural fiber and I like having the cotton close to him, but it works for now and then and when he gets some redness. Good luck.
