Favorite Magazines for Teens

One magazine written by teen girls for teen girls is Teen Voices. I love this magazine because it's about real issues teen girls face and not about makeup, fashion and how to get a certain guy. This magazine addresses sexism, racism, etc.

I'm wondering what other great magazines are out there for teens. Thanks so much!!

ETA: The magazines don't need to be written by teens as Teen Voices is. I was just tossing that out there as one magazine and telling a little about it. Any quality magazine written for teens is fine.

Brio and Breakaway (for girls and guys, respectively).

Mum4vr- both of those magazines were not in print anymore?

I don't know of any other magazines written by teens. But I do think the magazine Cricket allows for submissions by teens.

Though not created for teens my son likes Popular Science and Mechanics. Mental Floss is another one my son likes.

I know Kiki is a great magazine for teen girls.

Thanks for the suggestions! I edited my original post, as the magazines don't need to be written by teens, just quality magazines written for them!

Actually, the Cricket group publishes Cicada for teens. I believe they let you review some stories online. It takes content from teens and adults and is mostly fiction/poetry driven. All the Cricket mags are ad free and very high quality so I would expect the same from Cicada.

For younger teen girls, New Moon might be good. It's actually labeled as being for girls 8 and up, but I find many of the articles introduce topics that I don't think my 9.5 yr old is into (make-up, popularity) so a 13 or 14 yr old might find it interesting. I think it would be too young for much beyond that, though.

Stone Soup is another interesting mag for the younger teen. It is all kid written and illustrated. I think 13 is the oldest they accept submissions from, though.
