Wow! Thank you for those awesome links Kawa Kamuri! btw, can I ask what your user name means? Is it something in Japanese? I know one of the meanings for Kawa is River, but I dont know Kamuri... anyway, thanks again for the wonderful pregnancy websites!

best site for me is
http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/

They show pics everyweek for what babe looks like and you just punch your due date in. Their forum is VERY mainstream though.

Wow, that cord burning idea is really interesting. I don't know if I'd have the guts to do it though. So neat that babies tend to calm down during the process!

Tonight I'm so so loving having discovered that Topshop sells maternity clothes. I'm just wish shopping

La Bassine vs Sevylor Electra. I've always loved the look of La Bassine, it totally fits into my crazy birth space aesthetic. Of course, last time I used the fishy pool.

I burst out laughing in the beginning when I realized she was laboring in an all white room...then she went to the hospital and I was like, ah okay, you aren't going to be bleaching the heck out of your room. It was a very beautiful video though.

Wow, lots of links! I will check them out.

I like this one. http://www.visembryo.com/baby/index.html Though the most interesting pictures are from the first tri, which is over or nearly over for many of us.

Thanks for sharing this! A great birth! Though I've got to say I am glad I have another six months to go before I have to experience labor again! I say that as someone who had a natural, out-of-hospital birth with my first and wouldn't have it any other way (if I can help it!!)!! The feelings can be really intense and this mama's face in transition sure brought me back!

I know what you mean! I got pregnant when my littlest LO was 11mo and, while her birth was AMAZING, it happened such a short time ago that I def need the next half a year to get my head in that place again. If someone had told me the night she was born that I'd be pregnant less than a year later I would have run for the hills. I'm happy it all worked out this way, though :)

I would love to check out the cord burning website. In Guatemala where I lived and worked with indigenous midwives it is common practice to burn the cord after its tied and cut, in a third world country it does tremendous things to prevent infection. A western midwife came there and taught the midwives to clamp and the clamped cords had more infections than the burned cords! My partner and I are planning to do it as well :) The midwife I worked with performed the burning along with a ritual and prayer, so beautiful.
