Your story gave me chills!

I would love to check out the cord burning website. In Guatemala where I lived and worked with indigenous midwives it is common practice to burn the cord after its tied and cut, in a third world country it does tremendous things to prevent infection. A western midwife came there and taught the midwives to clamp and the clamped cords had more infections than the burned cords! My partner and I are planning to do it as well :) The midwife I worked with performed the burning along with a ritual and prayer, so beautiful.
