K8chambers, don't beat yourself up too bad, it sounds to me like your baby is hitting lots of milestones and that is probably the reason for the nightwaking. Your ped is a dolt. Don't listen to him. I have a similar situation with my DD's ped, he has no knowledge of breastfeeding beyond textbooks, and he says the most ridiculous things sometimes. Maydaymom, sounds like things are going well!!! We had some setbacks the last few days-DD ended up back in the bed two nights, and last night she cried for two hours because she ended up in the bed and I was trying not to nurse her back to sleep. She has a cold, and I think the stuffy nose isn't helping, plus I suspect she is getting her molars...But tonight she is in the crib, she woke up twice, but went back down easily..she just cried out again, but fell back asleep without my intervention. So, hopefully I will get a few good hours tonight. I am also going to work on a lovey for her, she has a bunch of stuffed animals, but not a favorite in particular. I am not sure how I feel about it though, I don't want her to get too attached to something....But then, I always slept with a stuffed animal when I was a kid!!!!
